Russian Muscle Stimulation
Muscle stimulation & recovery therapy.
Service Description
WHAT IS IT? Russian Stimulation is a type of Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) developed in the 1970s by Russian scientist Dr. Yakov Kots to help Olympic athletes improve muscle strength and performance. HOW DOES IT WORK? Russian Stimulation works by sending medium-frequency electrical pulses into the muscles, causing them to contract and relax in a controlled, rhythmic pattern. These pulses penetrate deep into the muscle tissue, recruiting more muscle fibers than voluntary contractions alone. Over time, this repeated stimulation helps build strength, increase endurance, improve circulation, and support recovery, all without the stress that traditional weight training can place on joints. Essentially, it's a highly efficient way to "exercise" your muscles using targeted electrical impulses. WHAT ARE THE KEY BENEFITS? - Builds strength and muscle mass - Improves endurance and athletic performance - Helps prevent muscle atrophy (loss) after injury - Enhances recovery by boosting circulation - Supports rehab and physical therapy programs HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE IT? - For strength & muscle building: 2-3 times per week, allowing at least 48 hours rest between sessions (just like weight training). - For rehab or preventing atrophy: 3-5 times per week, usually with lower intensity, under guidance of a therapist. - For recovery & circulation: Can be used more frequently, but at a lighter setting. - For maintenance: 1-2 times per week once desired results are achieved.
